On 9/19/2024, a check for $914.73 was deposited into the state forfeiture account. It was received as pro rata distribution from another jurisdiction. It was later discovered that the check was sent to us in error and we were asked to refund the full amount, for redistribution. A check for $914.73 was written from the Gwinnett County Police Department state/local forfeiture account to fulfill the refund request. During the 2024 year, only the deposit received cleared the bank. The refund check will not clear until the 2025 year. Since this is neither true revenue or expenditure for the Gwinnett County Police Department, the 2024 revenue of $914.73 is being omitted from the "Forfeited Currency" tab on this year's report. Similarly, next year, the $914.73 refund check will not be listed as an expenditure on the 2025 state report.
On April 2, 2025, a deposit totaling $982.80 was mistakenly issued for the destruction of two vehicles, #424919 and C018310. To correct this error, two refund transactions were processed to the recipient account in the amounts of $505.40 and $477.40.
Values of forfeited property is determined at the time of sale, as sold to the winning bidder. Items not yet sold do not have values listed on this report.
